We had a wonderful time in Jacksonville Florida at the 3rd Annual Luiz Palhares Jiu-Jitsu Network Training, If you didn’t make it this year, sorry you missed out, I hope next year we will have more of our students attend.
Today I had the Opportunity To Give Four Hard Working White Belts Their First Stripe. Congratulations to these Students. Chase, JP, Trae and Cameron. Thanks for showing up and making our academy what it is.
Cathy has been training with us, on and off for about 8 years, she has been a dedicated student to us. When she was able to train, through injuries and such. And always have had a great compassionate disposition with her training and with her training partners.
You asked for it, you got it. This Friday will be the first class of our new classes. With the over whelming response, and our boom in class attendance in our other classes on Monday and Wednesdays. We have listened to our students and have extended our classes to Friday nights. On Fridays at 6pm we will be having No-Gi Grappling MMA. Bring your small MMA gloves. And at 7pm we will be having our Thai Kickboxing Classes. Normally during the summer months when the college students go home, for the summer, our attendance will takes a hit. But Not this year as seen in the Pictures from yesterday.

One Month from today Jay Speight will be stepping in the cage again in Greenville NC. In preparation for his up coming fight, this week Jay has been in California training with Black House MMA with several top athletes like Lyoto Machida, Rener Gracie, Kevin Casey, Kenny Johnson, James Moontasri, among others. Everyone at the gym is looking forward to seeing what our instructor will be bringing back to Greenville North Carolina.
We would really like to thank Andrew Smith for putting on a great seminar Saturday. We all learned so much and hope it isn’t another 10 years before he will be back. Here are some Pictures of the seminar.
10 years ago Andrew Smith did a seminar at our academy when he was a Purple Belt and James Speight was a Blue belt. Jay was 11 years old at that time. There are things Andrew shared with us back 10 years ago that we are still using on a daily basis. The information Andrew shared with us Saturday will be useful for decades to come. If you missed this you missed something good. Get with your partners at the gym and hope you can catch up.

Today was a pretty great day at our academy, George, Jack, Alex and Terrance received stripes on their belts. And Jason Carver received his Purple Belt. We are really proud of him, he has put many years of training and this promotion is well deserved.
